Tommy Amaker Leads Harvard Basketball Into New Territory

Local stars such as Western High’s Floyd Lewis, and DeMatha’s James Brown and Bob Ferry, Jr., have played basketball for Harvard. This year, W.T. Woodson alum, Coach Tommy Amaker, has the Crimson men in fine fiddle, with a 21-3 record, that includes victories over Florida State, St. Joseph’s, Boston College, and Utah:

Kansas Star Thomas Robinson is D.C. Native

The Kansas Jayhawks knocked off nationally ranked Baylor last night. Their star forward Thomas Robinson hails from Washington, D.C.:

The former Riverdale Baptist star had 15 points and 11 rebounds in the 68-54 rout of Baylor’s Bears. The late Aubrey Nash also starred at Kansas, as did D.C. native Milt Newton.
