He’s Back: Georgetwon Prep Names Herb Krusen Coach

Georgetown Prep has hired Herb Krusen as its new basketball coach.

A former All-Met guard who graduated from Northwood High in 1976, Krusen played played at East Carolina University and then spent 17 seasons coaching college basketball, including one as a head coach, guiding Western Carolina to an 8-19 record in 1987-88.

Durant Leads US To First FIBA Championship In 16 Years

Kevin Durant’s 28 points led the USA to a world championship victory over home team Turkey. The USA had not won the FIBA title since 1994. Durant, who scored a record 38 in a semifinal victory over Lithuania, hails from Suitland.
