Our interview with former Duval High forward “Mickey Michaels” is on the homepage:
Mickey Michaels was Great. Played against him in Junior High 67′ (Glenridge vs Kent) , teammate at DuVal J.V 68′ and against him (Parkdale vs. DuVal 69′ and 70′. I was there when Mickey took that shot (left baseline) to beat us (Parkdale). He was so fundamentally sound and so smooth. Bobby Stevens, Alphonso Adair, Irv Copeland, Wally Shafer and Mick. DuVal was loaded. But Micky was my favorite.
That’s good to hear from an eyewitness Gary, thanks.
Those DuVal teams were rediculous!! Michaels was one smooth player. Adair, at 5’6″ could dunk the ball. Irving Copeland was “the man” on that team. Bobby Stevens was a solid, solid guard and excellent athlete. Wally I think, was the only one to go D-I, playing ball at St. Bonaventure.
That’s what they say Ron, thanks.
