Anacostia’s Adair Boosts GWU

The George Washington Lady Colonials’ recent 78-51 drubbing of Richmond was highlighted by Jessica Adair’s 27 points. Adair attended Anacostia High. Antelia Parrish of Prince George’s County’s Bishop McNamara High (and Prince George’s Community College) tossed in 12, with eight rebounds. The local ladies had two steals apiece. Parrish was first-team juco All-American in 2006.

The LC’s are 19-4, 7-1 in the Atlantic 10, and ranked #13 in the nation.

Anacostia High has produced players such as Wilbert Skipper, Byron Weems, Keith Davis, Mike Powell, Donte Smith, Jay Chapman, Cato June, and Lonny Baxter. McNamara is the alma mater of Maurice Young (St. Bonaventure)- and the girls’ team was ranked #1 in the nation by USA Today in 2005.
