A special year for Eastern High school grad Jerry Chambers and the Utah basketball team (Chambers was named NCAA Tournament MVP even though the Utes were eliminated before the championship game):
BTW- the greatest scorer in NCAA Tournament history attended Mackin Catholic High school at 14th and V, N.W., and his name is Austin Carr:
AC averaged 41.3 ppg. in seven NCAA Tournament games, and in the 1970 tourney he averaged a record 52.7 in three games, dropping 61 on Ohio U. No one could shoot with Austin.
